How can I obtain Brazilian nationality?

There are several paths to Brazilian nationality.

Any foreigner who has had a permanent residence permit in Brazil for at least four years can apply for Brazilian citizenship.

The process of Brazilian naturalisation can be initiated by foreigners who have been in Brazil for more than four years with legal and permanent status. The term can be reduced to one year in the case of being married to a Brazilian woman or having a Brazilian child under her care or being a native of a Portuguese-speaking country, with moral suitability and without criminal conviction, according to article 12, II, item b. of the Federal Constitution of 1988. There are 4 types of naturalisations (nationality) in Brazil: ordinary (or common), destined to the majority of foreigners in regular condition in Brazil, extraordinary, special and provisional (which can become definitive).

In Brazil, the interest in obtaining Brazilian naturalisation is sought by people of many different nationalities. To identify the type of naturalisation that suits your profile and start the process with security, tranquility and agility, contact our office to clarify your doubts and understand the complexity of your case.
